How difficult is it to conquer a peak? Well, technical peaks require prior experience, clearances and so on. Luckily, there are many trekking peaks in India where all you need to reach the top is determination, zeal and a strong will.
Here is taking a look at the 10 mountains in India that you can climb even if you are not a seasoned trekker.
- Chandrashila
Trekking to the Chandrashila summit in Uttarakhand is a wondrous experience for more than one reason. The staggering views of the many peaks in India, including Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba, are equally matched with the splendid Deoriatal Lake en route. The trek takes a divine form during winters when the peaks are covered with snow and the lake is frozen.

- Kedarkanth
Located in the Garhwal Himalayas, the Kedarkanth trek in western Uttarakhand is most definitely a beginner’s trek. Try the climb during winters when the snow carpets the mountains and the campsites are surrounded by pine forests and vast meadows.

- Nag Tibba – Also known as the Serpent’s Peak, Nag Tibba located in the Garhwal Himalayas makes for an ideal weekend getaway. The trek through thick forests and meadows, the stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges coupled with the fact that the trek follows a circular route, provides surprisingly beautiful views all throughout the hike.

- Mount Shitidhar – Peak climbing the Shitidhar in the Pir Panjal range is a challenge. It usually takes a week to complete the trek and one passes through the Beas Kund and many other magnificent meadows before reaching the summit. However, the trek is worth for the amazing views of the Pir Panjal and Dauladhar ranges.

- Stok Kangri – One of the most challenging mountains in India, Stok Kangri is not for the faint-hearted. Acclimatizing to the weather and altitude, this peak in Ladakh’s Stock range awakens the fighter within you to dare to reach its summit. However, in spite of its many tests, this peak in India offers some of the most stunning views of the surroundings.

- Kang Yatze 2 – A distinct peak in the Markha Valley, the Kang Yatze 2 is perfect for climbers who want to stay away from the crowds of Stok Kangri. On a clear day you can view the K2, Broad Peak, Nun Kun and Zanskar range from its summit.

- Mount Bhanoti – One of the most encompassing peaks in India, Mount Bhanoti has it all. Rocks, sand, snow and meadows, all are a part of this trek, making it a delightful trekking experience.

- Friendship Peak – Out of the many peaks in India, the Friendship Peak in the Solang Valley is a great peak climbing experience for unseasoned trekkers. A glacier needs to be navigated en route, however, the low altitude of the mountain makes it a good practice climb.

- Anamudi – If you want to give the Himalayas a break, then the Anamudi mountain located in the Sahyadri ranges or the Western Ghats is a perfect trek. Located between the Palani and Anaimalai Hills, the Anamudi offers pleasant views of the green-carpeted vegetation all around.

- Patalsu Peak – The Patalsu Peak is one of the most beautiful treks among the mountains in India. Located in Kullu Valley, the lush meadows, inviting apple orchards and gushing streams provide for a soothing picturesque trek.
