5 benefits on why you should travel solo

Traveling solo opens door to new perspectives in life and broadens our mindset towards so many things in life. We all must travel solo at least once in our life. Once you get the gist of it, trust me you will prefer traveling solo over anything.

Here are the reasons why you should travel solo:

  1. You will become more confident

While traveling on your own, you need to make so many decisions and come out of the comfort bubble of staying at home. It will challenge you in many ways as you are the whole and soul of the trip. It’s you who decide if you want to go hiking or interact with locals, if you wish to eat local food or eat at an expensive restaurant. If you end up being in trouble, you will have to find your own way to fight it and come out of it.

  1. You open the door to make new friends

My personal recommendation for people who have recently started travelling is to stay in backpacker hostels. It makes it easier for you to talk to strangers. You will easily find people traveling solo and if lucky, you might end up forming a group and travel with them and save money. So yeah, solo travel doesn’t always mean that you are alone.

  1. You can make any changes in plan on the go

The best part about solo travel is that you don’t have to wait for others to join in or you don’t have to make unnecessary changes if you don’t wish to. You can travel just the way you want. You can eat whatever or wherever you like. You can stay where you want.

  1. You will learn to enjoy your own company more

You are the most important person in your life but not every one of us wants to accept that. When you live in the city among your family and friends, you don’t get to spend time with yourself. When you travel solo, you will spend more time alone and that will help you know yourself better.

  1. You will be more likely to connect with locals

Since you’ll have no known social circle as you reach any particular place, you will tend to interact with locals. Interacting with people staying in different regions of the world opens door to knowledge on different culture, different thinking and many times you will learn some new language while travelling solo.

Surely, these are the benefits that will tempt you to travel solo. I am not saying that traveling solo is always fun as you know you will face challenges for sure, but the best part is you will learn to cope up with them and get rid of all the hurdles coming up. Solo travel is challenging but it comes with its own rewards and the sense of achievement you feel is phenomenal.
